Early Stage Researcher (ESR)
I am particularly interested in political communication and electoral behaviour. During my bachelor programme in Political Science at the "Institut d'Etudes Politiques" of Grenoble, France, I studied those issues by focusing on political systems and political parties, and I did my thesis on the emergence of S. Berlusconi in the Italian political system. Then during my master degree in European Communication Studies at the Univeristy of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, I emphasized on political discourse within the context of electoral campaigns, and investigated the persuasiveness of McCain's and Obama's political rhetoric during the 2008 US Presidential elections.
During my PhD I wish to pursue my research on the relationship between media and voters, particularly regarding the cognitive processing of information and its eventual impact on electoral behaviour. My hobbies include cross-country skiing, hikking and juggling.
During my ELECDEM research contract I undertook periods of secondment at Kieskompas (Amsterdam The Netherlands) and CEVIPOF (Paris France).
